The Future of Blogging

I was just doing a dry run through some of the Q & A questions that people were asking and I came across an interesting question asking me what I think of the future of blogging. There have been recent discussions in which people think blogging will die out and is a phase like having a PDA or something, but I don't think so. If anything, I believe blogging will become more and more popular among the world and people will blog as often as sending an email to friends or family.

The full picture..
-Usually friends and family send emails to each other to keep in touch, share family vacations, etc. I think more people will start blogs instead in the future, in which their friends and family will subscribe through RSS by email and get emails from the blog posts instead of direct emails sent out.

So say..Sam was sending an email every month on what he was up to, sharing pictures of his new condo in New York to his whole family. Instead, he will start a blog, in which his whole family subscribes to his RSS by email, and he will just put up a blog post about his new condo in New York.

I see blogging becoming more like how it was to have an email address back in the 90's, people had them whether they used email or not. As it is people have blogs just for personal use and fun, but I see it growing to different age groups and diverse populations as time goes on.

The point also came up that it is currently super hard to get attention to blogs in the blogosphere today, but as people will have them more for personal use, I don't see it as a problem when they only get say 100 visits a month. If you ask an average blogger today, who doesn't do it for the money or anything else, and does it for fun, you will find out they don't mind the 20 unique visits they get per day.

Anyways...This is just my thought on the whole future of blogging, but I could very well be wrong. - Let me know what you think the future is- post a comment!
